Positive Case

Message from Head of Centre and NHS Lothian

We are aware of a person in Fox Covert Early Years Centre who has tested positive for COVID-19. We understand this is a worrying time but would like to reassure you that we are working closely with NHS Lothian Health Protection Team and following all national guidance.

Persons are currently being contacted because they may have been in close and sustained contact with the case and may need to self-isolate and asked to have a test for COVID-19. They will be given appropriate guidance and advice.

An update via email will be sent to you as soon as the tracking and tracing process is complete.

If you have not been contacted and your child remains well, you should continue to follow the setting’s existing arrangements for your child.

Enhanced cleaning and infection control measures are in place in line with national guidance. Fox Covert Early Years Centre is safe and remains open to existing arrangements.

If you have any concerns in the meantime, or if you need to book a COVID-19 test because your child has developed symptoms (high temperature, new continuous cough and/or a loss or change in smell or taste) please visit the NHS Inform Website http://www.nhsinform.scot or for non-clinical advice call 0800 028 2816.

Please note that a test should only be booked if you or your child has these specific symptoms.

Remember to stay at home if anyone in the household has symptoms of COVID-19.

Survey

Edinburgh Child Protection Committee and NSPCC Scotland are working together to design a city wide campaign on neglect.  As part of this, they are keen to develop a better understanding of what parents in Edinburgh understand by the term neglect, what they would do if they suspected a child was being neglected and where families access support with parenting.  They have created a short survey to do this, which should take between five and ten minutes to complete.  By completing this survey, you will be helping them to ensure that the final campaign will be relevant to all families and contribute towards keeping all children in the city safe.   Closing date for responses is 18 March.

Tesco Feedback

We have been asked by Tesco if parents and carers could provide some feedback about the free fruit that we have been fortunate enough to receive on a weekly basis in school as part of our 1 in 5 work.  We would be very grateful if you could spare a few minutes to do this as it may result in us continuing to receive free fruit for another few weeks.  It is certainly well loved and enjoyed by the children every week!

You can participate in the following ways:

You can also gain 25 clubcard points and be entered into a prize draw to win a £1,000 Tesco gift card by taking part!
